ABOUT

ABOUT ME

My name is Jenny Petropoulou.

I was born in 1971 and grew up in Athens, but for the last 15 years, I have lived in Piraeus of Greece.

From 1992 I studied in AKTO Art & Design College, "Fashion Design" - Theatrical costume - Fabric Design.

After that, I studied at the Public I.E.K. Piraeus, "Designer Through Computer Systems", AutoCAD - Architectural Design, and this is my business and I have been working professionally, in Architectural Offices as Architecture & Engineering Draftwoman, for the last 25 years.

In 2017 I started to study in the Painting Workshop of the Municipality of Piraeus, with teachers Ioanna & Christina Bali, participating in the group exhibitions, at the Municipal Gallery of Piraeus (2018) and at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus (2019).

In 2021 I participate in exhibitions of other groups like, in AtreVitione Gallery - "The Art of Portrait Vol.ii", in the Hellenic French Association - "Be The Voice of Art", in Palio Amaxostasio OSY, exhibition in the context of NGFL Fashion & Art, 1st DESIGNERS Pop Up Store  / STALEXPO e.t.c.

In 2019 I started to deal with the Scenography for the performances group "Theatrical Plank", of the Cultural Association of Argyroupolis "The Dance Expression", which are staged at the Cultural Center, Mikis Theodorakis.

Initially, I did the set design for the show " Sunday of Shoes " by Lakis Lazopoulos.

Then I set the stage for Jack Sharkey's "Black Out" (a show that was canceled due to Covid-19).

In a few words

I like to use acrylics to paint classic images, portraits, but also to create abstract art.

In some of my works, I use different mixed media techniques. This allows me to reinterpret and expand the possibilities of the canvas, allowing water-soluble media (pastes) to be expressed alongside acrylic paints.

My creations are based on simple forms and usually refer to building surfaces under construction or deconstruction and that is my inspiration.

I often apply these to scenography, but knowing that my art is intended to decorate classic or modern spaces, I do not fail to add a glow using metallic colors always following the simplicity.

For my creations, I strictly use the best quality acrylic colors on canvas and water-based media.

Enjoy my Art!
